Being from the Midwest I’ve always loved the mountains. I remember visiting relatives in Las Vegas and Montana and seeing mountains in the distance. When I was little we visited relatives in California and North Carolina and got to drive through them. Since relocating to the Southeast I still don’t have mountains but I also lost the change of seasons and though I miss seeing the colors change in the fall I don’t miss snow and ice.
I think I’ve found a way around this though, a vacation home in the mountains. Just think, I could see my mountains in the spring, summer or fall and on the rare occasion I want some snow I could get a little of that. Mind you I said a little of it, I’d always have my escape plan and plane ticket handy. You know I wouldn’t mind spending Christmas in the snowy mountains, arrive December 24th and leave December 26th. That should be just about enough snow to tide me over for a year.
In my online search for my vacation getaway I came across Parks Edge Park City. The townhomes are a good size and affordable enough and with the activities and sites around the area it could easily be rented out to those who like that cold, wet, white stuff.
To top it off Parks Edge City Homes has a club house which features a pool, hot tub, fitness center, large gathering area with floor to ceiling fireplace and a 15-seat theater.
Now that I think about it, I may postpone my purchase for a while since Don’s not convinced he wants to see snow again. I’ll have to ease him into this slowly with a spring or autumn vacation before I bring out the snow shoes. But tell me doesn’t this make for a great Christmas Card.
