I’m developing a sweet tooth and I’m trying to be come a Domestic Goddess so it stands to reason when Scharffen Berger Chocolate asked me to review some of their products I didn’t hesitate but immediately said YES.
I’d never heard of Scharffen Berger Chocolate but when it arrived I was amazed at the amount of chocolate. Having never cooked with anything more than a bag of vegetarian friendly cocoa, I was lost so I turned to my good friend Chef Michael. His next words shocked me. “That’s on the list of the 5 best chocolates in the world” OH WOW. Now I was nervous. This was like gold, how can I even attempt to do this justice. Being the good friend Michael is, he agreed to use the chocolate and let me know how it was.
The following week I was in for another surprise. You see, Michael is not only a friend but he’s teaching a cooking class that my husband and I are taking and he brought the chocolate in for us to make truffles. Now I could actually review the chocolate from beginning to end.
First I have to say we shaved it down to be able to mix it with the other ingredients for our truffles and it was so soft and easy. After we had the truffles made we got to taste them. Delicious, out of this world. I can’t believe little old me made something that tasted so good but I do have to give credit where credit is due. I’m sure they wouldn’t have tasted the same without Scharffen Berger Chocolate.
Now I’m going to do something I’ve never done on this blog before. Share Chef Michael’s (actually it was Mame Eisenhower’s favorite recipe) recipe for truffles.
