I love getting gifts but I really get a thrill out of giving them. The look on the receiver’s face when I know I’ve picked out that perfect gift that’s meant for them. I also like finding gifts that they won’t buy for themselves or don’t see on the shelves in every store you walk in to. I found just that at Novica.
Novica is dedicated to giving artists and artisans from around the world a place to show and sell their work.
I was giving a $75 gift code to purchase anything I like for a review and I can honestly say I had a hard time narrowing it down to 1 item so I did better than that, I got 2. I first decided to look at jewelry, specifically earrings. I’m not a flashy person and like to blend into the background so I go for nice posts but I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone so I want jewelry that will catch people’s attention. I found many earrings I liked but when I saw these beautiful opal earrings in sterling silver called Honesty I knew I had to have them. The fact that opal is my birthstone was even better.
When the earrings arrived I was so impressed. They’re just the right size and absolutely beautiful in a rich blue with flecks of gold, pink, purple, green and white.I have to say I’ve worn them every day since they arrived a couple of weeks ago and have received so many compliments.
I knew before I ordered the earrings that they were made in Bali by Caine. The earrings came in a beautiful fabric covered gift box that I don’t think I’d cover with gift wrap if I were to give them away.
The second item I ordered were a set of Pandanus picture frames called Nature’s Balance. They came in blue or brown and I picked the brown. The frames are in 2 sizes and can be displayed either vertically or horizontally. The larger one holds a 4 X 6 photo where the smaller one will hold a 3.5 X 5 photo. The frames are hand woven with a card paper backing. They were ordered with the intention of giving them to my nephew as a gift but after seeing them I’m tempted to keep them myself. The frames were made in Bali by Komang Sulaksana. Komang uses mostly natural fibers like banana bark, hibiscus leaves, lamtoro and recycled paper for his crafts.
Each item ordered from Novica comes with a card that tells you about the artist/artisan as well as the item you purchased. This is great for including in the box when presenting it as a gift.
If you like the items on Novica and would love to see them in person you can go to Novica Live and set up a home party where a Novica Live Party Consultant will come to your home and show the items to you and your friends. If you’d like to be a part of Novica you can become a consultant and earn money while sharing the beauty of the world.
Earrings sold for $38.99 and the frames were $25.49 for the set
