Once the weather warms up and the backyard dries from all of the snow it is rare that we as a family spend any time whatsoever inside the house. The kids love to play in the backyard on their swing set, jumping on the trampoline or swimming in the pool. I enjoy sitting out on my back deck with my feet up enjoying the fresh air and watching the kids play in front of me. While outside we love to listen to music and I generally just use my iPhone to do this, I set it beside me and listen through the iPhone speakers which are loud enough but if I want to go anywhere else in the yard I either have to take it and set it down somewhere hoping it is safe or fore-go having the option of music in that area. Recently I received the Memorex Party Cube for review and now my music in the yard and even in the house problem is solved.
Lee was like a kid in the candy store as soon as he saw the Memorex Party Cube and could not wait to rip it open and start using it, and use it he has. I have not yet had a chance to get outside with it because the backyard is way too wet and mucky but he has been using it all over the house. He takes it along when he is cleaning and loves it because it is rechargeable so we don’t need an open outlet to use it and he can use it anywhere as long as he remembers to charge it the night before.
The Memorex Party Cube is available in two models one comes with a built in CD player as well and the other does not have it. We received the one that does not have the built in CD player but that is OK we don’t really do CD’s anymore pretty much all of our music is on our iPhones anyhow. The Party Cube is available in black or white in color, we received the black one. As I previously mentioned it has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery so we can take it anywhere. The charge on the battery lasts for about 4-6 hours of continuous play. For ease of carrying it has a fold down handle.
The Memorex Party Cube is compatible with both your iPod touch and your iPhone and will even charge your device but only if the Party Cube is plugged into the wall it will not charge while running on battery power which to me is an important note to make and something I would like to see in the future. The speakers in this are multi directional so you do not need to be sitting directly in front of the cube to be able to hear the music. On top of playing music from your iPhone or iPod you can also tune into the radio to listen to some tunes, so I know that my kids will be able to use this still if I need to use my phone.
So all in all the Memorex Party Cube is great because it is rechargeable, can play for 4-6 hours, charges your iPhone or your iPod, is portable with it’s easy carry handle, is small enough to fit on a side table and not be too obtrusive so drinks etc will still fit and it can be used as an Am/FM radio for when your iPod/iPhone is not available. The one and only downfall we could find to the Memorex Party Cube is that it does not charge your battery on your phone unless it is plugged into the wall so no charging on the fly. Not a deal break at all in our house and we will continue to use this until it dies on us which knowing Memorex it will be many years.
