We all know Christmas can get expensive so you want to make sure you pick that perfect gift for the people on your list. To me some of the most difficult people to buy for are kids over the age of 5. They’re more outspoken in what they want and will let you know in a minute whether it’s thru words, facial expression or body language if they’re happy with your selection or not.
This year Mattel made it so much easier with some great gifts.
Hot Wheels Video Racer $59.99
This is an actual Hot Wheels car with a built in micro vide camera that records up to 12 minutes of footage. What kid wouldn’t like that. My 6 year old nephew is so into Hot Wheels that I’m sure he’s going to be loving this. Heck, if he doesn’t want it I know I’d be happy with it. The car has the camera lens on the front of the hood and a mini monitor on the bottom of the car to instantly view what you’ve just recorded. You can turn the camera on and have it zoom around the track or better yet, it comes with a case that protects the car while allowing recording, a strap and mounting clips to attach it to your bicycle, skateboard, helmet or just about anything else they can think of. There’s a USB adapter included for attaching and downloading the video you just shot to your computer.
Video camera powered by a rechargeable batter.
Mindflex Duel Game $99.99
My 9 year old nephew is another story all together. He loves games so the Mindflex Duel Game is perfect for him. This is a game that literally uses your brain. It comes with 2 headsets with sensors, a base or playing field with built in fan and hoops to build an obstacle course and a ball. This game can play solo or against an opponent. The object of Mindflex is to use your brain power to control the speed of the fan and guide the ball either through the obstacle course or to beat your opponent. This is something he can play with his brother, mother, grandparents or even me. Yeah, I’d like to see if I have more brainpower than a 9 year old.
Requires Batteries not included: 2 C and 4 AAA
Mattel sent me the Hot Wheels Video Racer and Mindflex Duel Game in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own
