Courtney Cox is acting like a normal person by asking the courts to drop Arquette from her name when her divorce is final.
I have just one question. Why is this news worthy?
I got married in 1982 and divorced in 1984. My name was Denice Gilson and when I got married it was changed to Denice Winkler.
No biggie, right? But wait, I wasn’t done.
When I was getting divorced I asked judge to change my name to, get this, Denice Gilson.
Yes, I CHANGED my name and it never made the headlines, it wasn’t even a big deal to my family. It wasn’t as traumatic to me as changing from my maiden name was. After all I was known as Denice Gilson for 24 years but only had the Winkler title for 1 1/2.
It gets even better, in 2003 I changed my name AGAIN. I dropped Gilson and am now Denice Landry. I have noticed, gets easier with each change.
I guess it always amazes me when celebrities are in the headlines for doing what normal people do.
