I received this sweater to facilitate this review though thoughts and opinions are my own.
The problem I have with most sweaters is the sleeves are tight and I feel like I’m suffocating and then if it has a turtleneck I’m choking. OK, maybe a bit too extreme but you get the picture, I don’t like anything tight around my neck and I need to be able to move my arms freely. I was recently sent the Cotton/Cashmere Boatneck Tunic from Jessica London and I’m in love.
I measured myself according to their sizing chart and found I was between sizes. Not wanting to chance it being too tight I went with the larger one and when I tried it on I first thought it was too big. I changed my mind on that when I modeled it for Don and my stepdaughter. Both said the fit was perfect.
I wore it for the first time on Thanksgiving and wasn’t at all uncomfortable. The sleeves were loose and sloppy. Being a boatneck I wasn’t choking and pulling on it all day and it felt great across my abdomen and chest (2 areas things are usually tight). At 5’2″ the length was just long enough to cover my hips but not so long as look like a dress.
It’s a cotton/cashmere blend and washing is breeze. Cold water in the machine and tumble dry. It held it’s shape perfectly and if there was any shrinkage it’s negligible. This is now my go to top for a dressy look with nice slacks or casual with jeans. As a matter of fact, it dresses up my darker jeans. An added benefit, it’s not too heavy or bulky so it will take you through the mild spring days.
This top comes in 3 colors Heather Grey, Plum Berry and the one I got which is Raspberry.
