With Father’s Day approaching in less that a week, have you got a gift for dear ole dad? Does dad like having a few cocktails? How about rum? For this review I received a 375ml bottle of Appleton Estate Reserve Rum. I had a get together and made Mai Tai’s for everybody and they loved it! A couple of my guests had it on the rocks and they said it was very smooth and almost tasted creamy. This is a great rum!
Appleton Estate Reserve Jamaica Rum is a super-premium rum in the Appleton Estate Jamanica Rum Family. It’s a blended rum that comprises 20 different select aged rums of varying styles and ages.
Appleton Estate Reserve is a full-bodied smooth rum with delicately balanced citrus, spice and nutty notes that are dervived from the sugar can as well as developed naturally during the fermentation, distillation and aging processes:
- Rich Orange Peel
- Delicatte Nutmeg
- Subtle Vanilla
- Hint of Hazelnut
The “Original Mai Tai”
- 1.00 oz. Appleton Estate Reserve
- 1.00 oz. Depaz Rhum Agricole
- 0.50 oz. Grand Marnier
- 0.50 oz. Simple Syrup (1-1 Sugar to Water)
- 0.75 oz. Orgeat Syrup
- 1.00 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- Mint Sprig and ½ Orange Wheel
Add ingredients into mixing glass; add one cube of ice and shake. Strain into glass that is ¾ full of crushed ice. Garnish with a large mint spring and orange half wheel. If crushed ice is not available, use regular ice cubes.
