Fabio Viviani Comfort Mat Review

0 Flares 0 Flares ×

With both Don and I having knee problems and often getting sore, achy back and hips when standing too long I’ve been wanting to try a gel mat for in front of the kitchen sink.  In the past I’ve tried various rugs with different backings to them but none have solved the discomfort factor we experience.

Recently I had the opportunity to review a Fabio Viviani Comfort Mat by Smart Step Home and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for.

gel mat

Toscana in Caramel, size 32? x 20? x 3/4?

Great features of the mat.

  • The Absolute Best in comfort
  • Will always lie flat & never curl  ( I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tripped over the edge of the rug we had there previously)
  • Trip-resistant 20? beveled edges (See previous comment)
  • One piece polyurethane construction
  • Non-slip top & bottom (The old rug we had there was always sliding and buckling in the middle making it a fall hazard)
  • Easy to clean & anti-microbial  (No more dragging a rug to the laundry room and spreading the food particles, dirt and grime all over the kitchen floor)
  • Puncture, heat & stain resistant
  • Safe, non-toxic & 100% recyclable
  • Backed by our 7 year warranty
  • Proudly made in the USA

Since I just had a knee replacement and have exercises to do at the kitchen sink plus the fact I love to run around the house in my bare feet I thought this would be a great opportunity to test the comfort of this mat.  I started doing the exercises with my therapist using the mat and it was quite comfortable but I needed to see if it really was the mat that made the difference so I removed it and did my exercises while standing on the bare floor and I could tell the difference.  There was more strain on my knee and the bottoms of my feet started aching and the balls of my feet were getting painful.  I put the mat back and the relief was immediate, not totally pain free but better.  I could exercise longer and seemed to have more stamina.

Since I have a small rug in front of the stove I wouldn’t mind getting another Fabio Viviani Comfort Mat to put over there and possibly one for each of the bathrooms as well.

I now have a surprise for one reader of Dee Says.  A chance to win Fabio Viviani Comfort Mat.  The one I’m giving away is identical to the one I have. The Toscana in Caramel, size 32″ x 20″ x 3/4″.  I know you’re going to love it as much as I do.

[…] Well, an antibiotic IV and home with a script for oral antibiotics and I was on my way to recovery.  The therapist reassured me that this was just a setback and I was going to be fine.  Exactly two weeks after surgery and I was promoted from a walker to a cane and I was given more exercises to do.  These I have to do standing at the sink and they’re actually fun but tiring at the same time.  As someone who’s physically out of shape standing and marching in place,  bending my knees back and trying to kick my butt, kicking my legs out to the sides and doing squats are hard work.  One thing in my favor is the Fabio Viviani Comfort Mat I got to review.
